“Poetic image visualization laboratory” with readers club “Everyone read”, PERMM museum, Perm, Russia, 2022
The participants are representatives of the informal poetic association “Everyone Reads” and residents of Perm, who were able to join the project by submitting an application on the museum’s website. During the residency, participants have found the images of the desired future in their favorite poems and embody these images in fabric sculptures using the original technique of curator Ksenia Markelova.
“Community and unification, space and time for creative self-expression are the main requests of the members of the ‘Everyone Reads’ community. At the same time, art in any form allows us to identify the problems and desires of society. Combining these two aspects of self-expression in art, the readers and I will ‘translate’ the poetic theses we have found about the desired future into visual works. The objects we created, not being direct slogans, but representing sensory visualization, when entering the social field, will demonstrate that the language of communication between people can have a variety of forms and depth — the result will be a kind of portable public art.” — Ksenia.
